9/12/2023 0 Comments New pennywise actor![]() ![]() Then we had another one, and we tweaked some things, so there was a process there. Then I did the read, and (director) Andy Muschietti responded to it. This was way before any conceptualizing of who the character was. I thought, this is fun, and I spent three days playing around with different things and voices and facial expressions to figure out something that was unique to me, something that I could enhance. You do whatever you do, and then people respond to it or not. There was room for so much creativity, I had never had a role like this. ![]() I remember that I was really excited about the audition. What do you think you did that made them choose you?Ī: I don’t remember. Q: You were one of about 100 actors who auditioned for Pennywise. The friendly, chatty, excitable actor, 27, sat down last week in Los Angeles to talk about getting and doing the role. Let’s just say that Skarsgard has reinvented, inhabited and run with it, giving the demon-like, child-killing Pennywise a whole new level of terror. Alexander was the most recent Tarzan, Gustaf was in “Kon-Tiki” and plays Floki in the TV series “Vikings,” and Valter will soon be seen in “Lords of Chaos.īut it’s Bill, previously in “Allegiant,” currently in “Atomic Blonde,” who landed the coolest Skarsgard role to date when he won the part of Pennywise the Dancing Clown in “It,” a character created by Stephen King, then brought to life in the 1990 TV mini-series by Tim Curry. In the midst of his prolific career, four of his sons followed him into the business. The current crop began with Stellan, who American audiences first got to know in “The Unbearable Lightness of Being,” “The Hunt for Red October,” and “Good Will Hunting.” More recently he had the part of Selvig in a few of Marvel’s “Avengers” films. But we’ll see, we’ll see.It seems that Sweden just isn’t going to stop producing actors with the name of Skarsgard. So, without going into too much detail, there is a story that we’re kind of excited about, but it’s way too early to say. I feel like I’ve done what I can with the incarnation of Pennywise as we know of him, so I think it would be a cool idea to change up a few things. So we would do something quite literally off book. The first two stories are the book, and the second film is the end of that story. I don’t think it’s quite what people expect. “Andy and I have discussed ideas for what a third movie would look like. Speaking with Arrow In The Head’s Eric Walkuski, Skarsgard indicated that he and Muschietti have an It 3 story in mind that they’re excited about: Muschietti and Bill Skarsgard, the actor who plays Pennywise, have both expressed interest in digging deeper into King’s book to find inspiration for a third film… and it sounds like they already know what and It: Chapter Three could be. The story of the Losers Club and their encounters with the evil clown Pennywise has been told, but Pennywise is merely the guise of a monster who has been around for a long time, so a third film could tell a story that takes place before their meeting. With director Andy Muschietti’s Stephen King adaptation It having made $700 million at the global box office and the follow-up It: Chapter Two, which told the second half of the story, surpassing $300 million in its first two weeks of release, there have been idle thoughts on whether Muschietti and his team could move forward with a hypothetical It: Chapter Three. It: Chapter Two is raking in ticket sales in theatres, and both the director and the man behind the monster clown are thinking of another installment.
