The purpose of the Global Seed Vault, aka the doomsday vault, is to reserve seeds in case of an apocalyptic event or a global catastrophe. The Svalbard International Seed Vault will house the seed samples at a preservative -18C (0F), and could be used by post-apocalyptic people to feed a hungry planet. The Svalbard Global Seed Vault is a deposit box storing more than 1,194,944 seed samples on an icy mountain between Norway and the North Pole. It was built by Ludwig Von Drake in case of an. The entire vault can house 2.25 billion individual seeds from 4.5 million species. Built to insure the world’s crop collection, the vault was once thought to be indestructible. The action plan sees subterranean seed vaults embedded in the geologically stable ground in 2025, followed by the construction of a modular building for the agricultural institute in 2030. The vault aims to safeguard the worlds agriculture from future catastrophes by building into the side of a mountain.
